COVID-19 Update

 

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is currently suspending lobby traffic effective immediately. Lobby traffic will resume Monday, November 30, 2020 at 8:00am.

 

Permits to Carry and Permits to Acquire may be mailed to us at PO Box 7957, Spencer, IA 51301 for processing. If you have any further questions or business to conduct with our office, you may call (712) 262-3221 or the Clay County Jail at (712) 264-4242, and we will assist you. Thank you!

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office manages the issuance of weapons permits. The Sheriff’s Office will take applications and are submitted to the State of Iowa for issuance upon approval. Download Form
